Clinical trials neuro-oncology
The UMC Utrecht Brain Center participates in international, investigator-driven and pharma-initiated, phase 0-4 clinical trials. Please check https://www.umcutrecht.nl/nl/Ziekenhuis/Afdelingen/Cancer-Center/Meedoen-aan-wetenschappelijk-onderzoek-oncologie/Lopende-studies-neuro-oncologie for ongoing clinical trials (in Dutch).
The UMC Utrecht is sponsor and initiator of two, soon to start, national studies (randomized clinical trials) into the optimal scheduling of radiotherapy in patients with glioblastoma. These studies are funded by grants by ZonMW and KWF to dr. Joost Verhoeff, radiation oncologist.
We participate in the Dutch Drug Rediscovery Protocol (DRUP) study program. This is a prospective, non-randomized clinical trial that aims to describe the efficacy and toxicity of commercially available, targeted anticancer drugs prescribed for treatment of patients with advanced cancer with a potentially actionable variant as revealed by a genomic or protein expression test.
