Biography

Research work:

As a postdoctoral researcher, Anastasia combines her expertise in educational studies, psychological assessment, and statistics, to investigate questions related to higher education. During her doctoral studies, her main focus was on selective admisisons to graduate programs in the life and natural sciences. In her postdoc period, she has expanded her research to include topics such as the evaluation of research skills, diversity and inclusion, peer feedback in educaiton and academia, and open science principles.

Anastasia collaborates with a team of life scientists, administrators, teachers, and policy makers to better implement educaitonal policies. 

Policy work

-developing guidelines for selective admissions to various undergradaute and graduate programmes (including a medical programme), on both university and national levels, 

-testing innovative methods of admissions to the Utrecht University Graduate School of Life Sciences (GSLS) and providing advice on the number of applicants to be addmited to the GSLS,

-coordinating the "Buddy Programme" for international students,

-being a leading editor of the newsletter for the PhD programme "Life Sciences Education research" 

Educational tasks

-serves as a co-director of the Utrecht summer school course "Reviewing Internationalisation: Open to Global Change?" in 2023.

-coordinates an elective master's course "English for academic purposes"  

-contributes to the development of the digital programme "Life Sciences and Society", which includes several educational modules
