Biography

Biography

Miguel Castilho is an Assistant Professor of Biomaterials design and processing at Eindhoven University of Technology and holds an adjunct appointment in Biofabrication at Department of Orthopeadics at UMC Utrecht. He has a MSc degree in Mechanical Engineering and a PhD in Biomedical engineering (cum laude) from the University of Lisbon (IST, Portugal). During his PhD studies he was a visiting researcher at Department for Functional Materials in Medicine and Dentistry, University of Würzburg (Germany), in the field of Bioactive inorganic materials design and 3D printing. From 2015 - 2018 he was a post-doctoral research fellow in 3D Printing and Biofabrication at the University Medical Center Utrecht (UMC Utrecht, The Netherlands), to become an Assistant professor at UMC Utrecht and at the Regenerative Medicine Center (The Netherlands) from 2018 – 2021. In 2021 he started a tenured position as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at TU/e, and has an adjunct appointment in Biofabrication at UMC Utrecht.
